The house chores continue...

Settling into this new house has been a WAY bigger venture than I anticipated.  We have had a great time getting used to our new house, and making it a home.  Doug has had so much fun playing "Mr. Fix-it".  So far, he hasn't pulled to many Cliff Huxtable moments.  I remember on the Cosby's how Claire always dreaded it when Cliff would break out the toolbox.  I have been pleasantly surprised at how much time and effort Doug has spent working and learning how to do our much needed around the house projects.

Here he is on his way up to the attic to reinforce the wood floor up there.
Way to go, Doug!!  Thankful for your happiness to be a Mr. Fix-it! You're doing great!!

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas.  We celebrated in Charlotte this year, which was great fun.  We also did a little home celebration , but I was terrible about taking pictures.  This is a pretty bad picture of our first tree in the new house.  It was so much fun to decorate (though I only broke out about 1/4 of my decorations this year) our new house!
 Outside Lights
This year, we, along with our precious nephews and nieces acted out the nativity story for the family...
The angel (Corinne) has just given Mary the news that she's about to be great with child!
Joseph was surprised by the angel...aka Elea!
All wrapped up in the gift explosion aftermath! (Doug and Nathan)
On Christmas Day, we had the wonderful surprise of SNOW...and lots of it!!
Here's Corinne showing off her snowball!
The boys gearing up for a snowball fight.
 Simply beautiful...

Later we we went to a park to go sledding.  Some had better success than others.

As I said, I just did not take pictures like I'd hoped to this year! But, we had a wonderful time celebrating with our sweet family, both in Charlotte and here.
Such a blessing.

Santa on the Roof 2010

Santa visited the Goodyears again this year!! Such fun!!

Risky's First Visit to BoisDArc!

We have been bringing Risky over for some trial visitation at our house.  This was the first time that we brought him for a visit.  He spent half the day walking around the house totally confused.  He spent the second half of the day passed out.
We are considering bringing him to live with us, but we're a little scared about moving him from my Mom's house.  Mallie's grandmother had a cat (or was it a dog) that walked all the way back to it's old home when she tried to move it...and it was a LONG WAY!
We would be so very sad if something happened to our sweet Risky...so for now, he's just our visiting kitty! Meow!

So thankful...

We had a really nice Thanksgiving weekend.  I didn't take many pictures, but I snapped a few.  We gathered at my Ann Ann's (when I was little I didn't realize everybody was calling her AUNT Ann.  So, she's always been my ANN Ann).  It was very fun and she was so sweet to have us all to her home.
Here's Brock wrestling with his second cousin, Jack...
"Someone" went into a turkey coma about 5 seconds after the meal.  Seriously, he was out like a light! Gotta love that tryptophan!
The Sisters...Ann Ann and my Mom
After we left Ann Ann's, we went to our house for a bit where Doug raked a huge pile of leaves for Brock to enojoy...so much fun for him!

Later, we went to Mom's and had a little late Birthday celebration for little Chloe who turned TWO on Nov. 10th...where, oh where has the time gone??!  She was just born a second ago wasn't she??

We gave her a new shopping cart full of groceries, and her brother set up a grocery store in Mom's kitchen.  She was loving it! Notice the purse on her arm...such a little girl!

Allie and her sweet family...
Snuggling on the couch with our precious ones watching Bedknobs and Broomsticks.  They were LOVING it!!
When we got home again that night, Doug set out to do one more project.  For some reason, there are two air vents in our GARAGE! We think the original owner had it set up like a workshop, and wanted to have it heated in the winter.  Unfortunately, that means that heat is pouring out into our garage and right under the garage door. So, my super duper handy-man blocked the vents so that no heat gets out!
Oh the joys of an old-new house! :)
On this Thanksgiving, we are so thankful for all of God's blessings including our sweet family, wonderful friends and house to call home and a million other things...
very thankful!!
