Not so fast...
We remain in Limbo as far as our move goes. I know I've told several people that we had a renter, but that seems to have fallen through once again as of yesterday. Now, our landlords have traveled to far away lands for the next 2 weeks, so we are at a standstill for now. If anyone happens to know someone who doesn't smoke, doesn't have a pet, does not "party" and is not a dancer at a cabaret AND needs a place to live...PLEASE CALL ME!!

On the move...
Well, the Steffensruds are about to make a move. We don't know exactly when yet since our landlady has already turned down THREE possible candidates who wanted to take over our lease. One had a 16 year-old ("Sixteen year olds party in house...no like!"). One had a dog ("No pets!") I have to say I'm thankful that she has that policy though because it has made for a nice clean place for us. One was a dancer/bartender at a Cabaret (Good think she doesn't know what my night job is! :) I think she is secretly working against us to make us have to stay here. Every time we talk, she says in her very friendly voice, "You stay here...no move!" You just have to know her!
Anywho, we have decided to forego the few comforts of our little nest and to become roomies with my Mother! Now I know some of you are shaking your heads right now and saying, "What are they thinking?" Here's what we're thinking. Live with Mom for a year, pay utilities only, sock away about $900 a month, save for a down payment on our own home, move out! Along with these perks, we'll get to be with my Mom, who we both love and get along with, thank the Lord!
Also, along the way we plan to help her with the many projects around her house that will have to be done in order for her to (eventually) put her house on the market. We've started this process, and boy is it a doozy!
It's no easy task to go through a lifetime of "stuff" (that's my polite word) and start a massive cleanout! Let's just say my sweet Mother enjoys saving a few things...we'll leave it at that since she's gonna be our new landlady! So, it seems most of our free moments are now being spent working to get ready for this transition. We're painting the upstairs portion of her home and doing various other projects. It's actually been a lot of fun for the most part. There was that first day, though, when I looked in her garage and saw a sea of "stuff", and declared, "I don't think I can do this!" But, it's much better now!
In case you were wondering...yes, Doug is wearing a graduation cap in the above picture. It came out of my MOM'S "skit closet"! Seriously, she and Doug have more in common than we first thought!

More celebrating!
Today we had a small family celebration for Doug's B-day after church. Our sweet Moms joined us for lunch at Lucille's in Ft. Worth. It was marvelous!

Doug's 30-FOURTH Birthday Celebration!!!
Doug turned 34 yesterday, and it was a really fun day! We both took the day off from work. We had a good sleep in, got up and opened presents and went out for lunch. Last night, we had the great pleasure of having dinner with many sweet friends, and going bowling! Thanks everyone for helping to make Doug's day so great!!
