New joy found in a ball of fur

Over the summer, our life began to start sounding like a very bad Country&Western song...
We lost Risky (our beloved kitty of 9 years).
We lost Doug's Grandma.
We lost our baby.
We lost our laughter.
But then...
We found BODIE!!!
Last month, Doug and I decided that we just had to find a way to reclaim some joy around our home. Of course, our ultimate joy is in the Lord.
But that day to day joy...
the happiness and laughter was sparse.
So, we decided it was time to add a member to our family.
So we searched online and located Bodie.
Our cat, Risky, was a Manx cat and if you know anything about Manx cats, you know that they may as well be dogs! They are known as the most social, playful and fun cats to own.
Also, they are the fastest running domesticated cats.
That's just a sidenote.
What Manx cats lack in TAIL (Bodie doesn't have one at all), they make up for in playfulness, sweetness and overall love for interaction with their people.
So, we decided we REALLY wanted to have another Manx.
The only Manx that I could locate was in a shelter in Waco, TX.

I made arrangements with his foster Mom, Molly to come and get him. But, as it turned out, Molly's Mom was coming to visit Molly's grandmother who lived...
in ARLINGTON!!
5 minutes from my house.
It also turns out that Molly is the cousin of Scott Spain, a guy that I went to high school with...small world!
Anyway, we brought Bodie home on October 27th.
The vet estimated that he was about 8 weeks old.
So, so precious in every way.
He's already grown so much...in physical size and in personality.

And we're so glad that he has joined our family.

We love you Baby Bodie!!
Bodie is named for our street Bois D Arc.
